We can say that these poems are pieces of an impossible quest to find meaning in loss, in all kinds of loss. We could describe the paintings that accompany them as the attempt to pry open the locked window of hope. Paolo Colombo’s esoteric voice provides unexpected consolation, for the pain and vulnerability of being human, especially in these times, in the 2020’s.
